About Abigail Ababio

Abigail Ababio is a Registered Social Worker and family therapist who supports couples and families in moving from disconnection to deeper understanding and emotional safety. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally affirming, and attachment-based approaches that help partners communicate more openly, repair emotional injuries, and rebuild trust. She believes healing happens in connection and creates a space where each person feels seen, heard, and supported.

Abigail works extensively with couples experiencing communication breakdowns, conflict cycles, intimacy concerns, parenting stress, and the impact of trauma on their relationship. She also provides therapy to newcomers and refugees through IFHP, offering culturally responsive care that honours lived experience, migration journeys, and the resilience of individuals and families adapting to life in Canada.

In addition to her clinical work, Abigail is a part-time professor in the Addictions & Mental Health and Social Service Worker programs, where she teaches future practitioners to approach care with compassion and cultural humility. Staying engaged in both teaching and practice allows her to bring current research and real-world insight into every session.

Her goal is to help couples shift from survival mode to emotional safety, from old patterns to new possibilities, and from tension to teamwork.

If you’re ready to strengthen your relationship and build a healthier future together, she would be honoured to support you. Reach out today to book your first session.
